Shed 10 Opens as Auckland's Cruise Hub

Posted August 16th, 2013

Auckland now has a new cruise hub with the official opening of Shed 10 on the city's waterfront. The venue will house the new multi-use cruise ships terminal as well as an events facility.

The building began life as a cargo shed and is now the last of the city's heritage cargo sheds. Originally intended to open earlier in the year as part of the winter cruise season, Shed 10 will now see it's debut as a cruise terminal on 11th October.

The first cruise ship to visit will be the Sea Princess from Princess Cruises. Following this will be a number of other cruises from Auckland over the duration of the summer season.

With a favourable location close to restaurants, hotels and tour operators, Shed 10 is expected to bolster Auckland's popularity with cruise passengers, both domestic and international.
