Cruising aboard Radiance of the Seas

What's it like on board a Royal Caribbean cruise you ask? Mandy Hooper from our Cruiseabout Tauranga store shares her experience on board Radiance of the Seas, where she cruised her way from Sydney to Darwin.

Food on board:

The Windjammer restaurant had really good fresh food buffet style, nice space for lots of people. The Cascades restaurant, the food was great! I liked that they changed the menu daily and I loved the breakfast bar in the morning (Yummy Granola)... Plus the service was fantastic!

The specialty restaurants on board range from Italian to Japanese cuisine.  I absolutely loved Giovanni's and Chops Grille the most - the service and the food were superb and such a high standard.  The Samba Grill was great too, where I ate far too much but was excellent and the concept is great for meat lovers. Izumi Japanese was okay, I didn't love it but I did like it. Ritas Cantina was excellent value for money and loads of food... was delicious!

There's so much on board in regards to entertainment for passengers.  I thought the shows were really great... And they also had a movie theatre on board!  The bars/public areas had some great entertainers and I loved the trivia nights and activities - I was never bored, with lots of alternative places to hang out.

The general look of the ship was great, with interactive screens throughout the ship allowing you to find out how to get somewhere which was really handy. I loved the pool and big screen outside (I was in that area a lot).

The Rock climbing wall and putt putt golf were great! And I also thought the Gym was fantastic, really great size and location.

I thought the Oceanview Cabin was great and really liked the blues and dark wood décor...  But I didn't spend a lot of time in the cabin. I was only in there to sleep, as there is so much to do on board!

All the staff on board, from the stewards to the bar tenders were all very friendly, which made the trip even more enjoyable. I had a fantastic time cruising with Royal Caribbean and would do it all again if the opportunity arose.
