Aboard the Sea Princess
Where can you find 5 swimming pools, 6 whirlpool spa pools, 2 dining rooms, 7 bars and lounges, an outdoor movie theatre, tennis court and even an art gallery, all in one location? If you thought it was a new luxury resort you’re not far wrong – it’s actually the luxury cruise ship Sea Princess.
Currently docked at Auckland’s Princes Wharf, this 261m long ship is cruising at the highest levels. An extensive range of facilities to keep cruisers entertained on even the longest journeys, coupled with dedicated areas catering to kids, families and even adults only.
We were excited to receive a tour of Sea Princess such that we could get a taste of this luxury cruise ship for ourselves, and we weren't disappointed. The atrium is breathtaking as you enter beneath a canopy of native palms. The staterooms are the perfect ‘home away from home’ upon the waves, with their own private facilities, flat screen televisions and refrigerator.
Taking a dip in the expansive pools was almost too good to resist, but even without getting wet, the views from the pool deck are something special. Reclining with a glass of bubbles in hand while basking in the sunset is certainly something we could easily imagine ourselves enjoying!
If the Sea Princess is a feast for the senses, then the range of dining options on board offer the same for the palate. With a pizzeria, steakhouse, patisserie and Horizon Court buffet all available, there’s no reason not to dine well while cruising, wherever the journey takes you.
