Visit Messina, Palma De Mallorca and Barcelona.

Trieste

Trieste lies on the sun kissed south facing shores of the Golfo de Venezia with an extensive coastline of beautiful beaches along the Adriatic Sea, and a location practically on the Slovenian and Croatian borders. A world away from the hubbub of Milan and offering an entirely different experience to Venice, Trieste is a unique city where you can genuinely get away from it all, and experience true Italian culture. Trieste has many charms. Its history is foremost among them, thanks to the city's former role as the sole port of the otherwise-landlocked Austro-Hungarian empire, which housed a small fleet there - a fleet which, from time to time, would sail off to make war against the Ottomans or the Italians. Today, Trieste is a border town par excellence. The sights in Trieste include numerous examples of Art Nouveau and neoclassical architecture from its Austrian past, the International Centre for Theoretical Physics, International School for Advanced Studies, Trieste University, and a beautiful coastline outside the city.

Messina

MESSINA is a pleasant town located with the best harbour on the Strait of Messina between the Tyrrenian and Ionian Seas, in northeast Sicily on the lower slopes of the Peloritani Mountains. A port city opposite the Italian mainland, Messina has industries producing silks, muslins, linens, and chemicals. As it is only five kilometres from the mainland, it is a common port for ferries and a frequent stop on Mediterranean trade routes.

Majorca

Palma belongs to Mallorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands, measuring about 75km /47 miles from north to south and 100km/62 miles from east to west. The beautiful scenery, the mild climate and the copious amount of accommodation make the island a major European tourist centre. Any visitor who arrives in Palma by boat or ship discovers a city spread across the curve of a wide bay, with its proud cathedral standing guard like its former days of maritime glory.

Barcelona

Barcelona is the capital of the Catalonia region. It lies along the Mediterranean coast between the mouths of the rivers Besós and Llobregat. In the Northwest a set of hills run parallel to the coast. In the Southwest the old town lies along the port and is divided by the famous “La Rambla”. Today Barcelona is Spain's second biggest city as far as population is concerned and it is the main industrial centre of the country. Barcelona hosts two universities, several museums and libraries and has been a cultural and artistic centre since the Middle Ages.
