Small Ship Cruising
Want something off the beaten path? A small ship cruise is a wondrous experience offering a relaxing environment, as well as the opportunity to explore fascinating places. A world of adventure awaits as you begin your cruise and venture to locations of beauty and mystique. The smaller size of the ships is an advantage, enabling them to cruise to more shallow or narrow waterways that larger vessels cannot access.

Famous for its beauty, the area in the Yasawa Islands, known as the ‘Blue Lagoon’, is ringed by islands with soft rolling peaks. It was in this region that the original movie ‘Blue Lagoon’, starring Jean Simmons and Lloyd Bridges was filmed. Blue Lagoon Cruises was named after the movie.
Blue Lagoon Cruise spends a lot of cruising time in the Blue Lagoon area and moor up at their own island paradise, Nanuya Lailai. The long stretch of golden sand is Blue Lagoon Cruises own private beach, and the 58 tropical acres in behind the beach is also exclusive to Blue Lagoon and their guests. This is a favourite stop, made all the more special with Fiji Princess tying off to a coconut tree!

One of the distinctions that Paul Gauguin offers is the intimacy of small ship cruising. The ship is small enough to get close into the islands, but large enough to have the facilities to make it the most enjoyable cruise vacation. With a 1 to 1.5 crew-per-guest ratio – among the highest at sea, you quickly build up a friendly rapport with the staff. You also get the chance to get to know your fellow passengers.
Refreshments are all included onboard and the fact you don’t have to keep a tab makes it that much easier to sit back and relax. At home in the Tahitian waters, the food is fresh, mostly local ingredients and full of flavour with local and French influences. Accommodations are spacious, modern and like most smaller ships can offer much larger windows. In fact on the m/s Paul Gauguin nearly 70% of rooms have their own balconies.

Azamara Club Cruises offer private, bespoke AzAmazing Evenings. These events offer guests an opportunity to experience the best of local culture in a unique way. Imagine a romantic evening on a hillside in Tuscany, with a live performance by three tenors, or getting the red carpet treatment before an evening of enchanting music by the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra in St. Petersburg, or spending an evening onboard under a blanket of stars while savoring local delicacies.
There may be a moment during your AzAmazing Evenings event when you forget you’re actually on a voyage.
