P&O Australia

P&O Australia

P&O Cruises is Australia’s leading cruise line to destinations close to our shores. They offer an affordable and fun way to cruise, making P&O Cruises perfect for a family holiday, a romantic getaway, or a fun holiday with friends. With a fleet of four ships, including Pacific Dawn, Pacific Sun, Pacific Jewel and Pacific Pearl, you can cruise to Indonesia, Australia, the Pacific Islands and New Zealand. In Indonesia you can visit the temple of Borodurdur, or take a traditional cooking class in Lombok. Experience a different side of Australia and take a winery tour through South Australia’s McLaren Vale, or a ride a camel on Broome’s Cable Beach. Watch sharks and rays from a glass bottom boat off the coast of Bora Bora, or take a parasailing tour of Moorea. In New Zealand tour Auckland’s wine trail or visit ancient rainforests and black sand beaches.

The number of activities to do offshore is equally matched with activities onboard, and there’s something on offer to suit any guests’ tastes. You can spend your days taking in wine lectures, dance lessons or trying your luck at bingo. Relax beside the pool or indulge in a massage. At night, enjoy P&O’s themed bars, musical productions, comedy acts and live bands. Dress up for Cocktail Night and stay up late dancing and playing in the onboard casino. With all of this on offer, you will feel like you are on a resort at sea, rather than on a cruise!

Kids

P&O Cruises are perfect for young sailors, as they have three onboard Children’s Centres to keep kids entertained. For children aged three to six, there is the Turtle Cove offering arts and crafts, movies, scavenger hunts, talent shows and the Ocean Friends Club. The Shark Shack is available for seven to 10 year olds who want to take part in PlayStation competitions, talent shows and more! For 11 to 17 year olds, there is HQ and HQ+ offering sports competitions, pizza parties, hip-hop classes and more cool activities. All of the centres offer fun in a friendly and safe environment.

Dining

P&O Cruises are a feast for your senses, with array of dining options and tantalising choices. With “Your Choice Dining” you can choose what to eat, and with whom, when and where. You can dine at the lavish buffet, or choose a four-course a la carte menu in the formal dining room. For an extra special experience, head for steak and seafood at celebrity Chef Luke Mangan’s restaurant, Salt Grill. Have a casual meal at the pizzeria, or relax by the pool with a quick snack. And if none of these take your fancy, room service is available all day.

Have just completed a cruise to Papua New Guinea, one of P&O Australia's new destinations. Overall, the cruise was great. The good points were:
- Interesting ports of call
- Friendly locals
- Great to be part of the Alotau Canoe Festival held each year in November
- Good (but expensive) shore tours- Great friendly staff on ship
- Good entertainment and food on board
- Still very good value for money
The not so good points were:
- Ship (Pacific Dawn) looking quite tired and not as well maintained as expected
- Level of services has dropped and staff seem busier than on previous cruises (this was our 4th with P&O Australia)
- Very hot and humid climate
- Tender service very slow at 2nd port - improved for other ports after many passenger complaints
Overall, I would recommend this cruise as an alternative destination to the Pacific Islands.

We had a fabulous time on our recent cruise to Tonga and Fiji. The cabin was a standard size and adequate. The housekeeping was great and they kept our cabin immaculately clean and the origami animals made with the towels was s lovely touch. There was a huge range of activities. I loved the dance classes which included jazz, tap, ballet, street, ballroom and rock and roll. The entertainment was very professional and the cirque performances were of a high standard. We went on one of the tours in Suva and it was value for money. We got to see a traditional village which we would never have seen if we hadn't done the tour. I would recommend that people do their research about the available tours and other options of what to do on the days in port. The cocktails were to die for and we had the best time ever!

I have cruised before and absolutely love it. I have cruised from New Zealand to the Pacific Islands, i.e. Noumea, Lifou, Island of Pines, Vanuatu. Another trip was from New Zealand to the islands i.e. Fiji, can't remember name of small islands. These were both absolutely amazing and done in the summer months so lots of sun, fun, snorkelling and of course eating and drinking.

The trip I have mentioned above is a first for my husband, we have been married for nearly 3 years :). Mike hasn't cruised before so I thought we'd do a tester to how he likes it. So we went from Auckland to Sydney and although the weather wasn't that good, and maybe a little rough, we new that it would be before we left. He still loved the experience and we will cruise again definitely.

We are going on a cruise soon to the Pacific Islands again for me but first time for Mike on the 2nd of August. We fly to Brisbane and go from there....... can't wait.

We travelled on Pacific Pearl during our first cruise. What a wonderful experience. The crew were very friendly and helpful. Cruising is a great way to enjoy a holiday. You can do as much or as little as you like. There are many things to do and people to meet. The Waterfront Restaurant was our favourite place to eat at night either before or after the amazing shows.

I've have been on two cruises before but this was the first time for my husband. It was a tester so only a short cruise to see if he likes it. We did the Auckland to Sydney cruise so it was a fairly rough trip but he still loved it anyway and big thing he wasn't sick either. We are definitely going on another cruise and in fact are currently looking at one in the pacific. We love cruising... thank you very much.

Absolutely loved our first cruise experience, the staff were amazing, the food was just delicious. I felt the security getting on board was excellent and made me feel very safe! The on board experiences were exceptional and what a choice of things to do. My husband and I went with 4 other couples, we did our own thing in the morning and normally met up at about lunch time to spend the arvo/evening as a group. Loved the captain's updates each day, advising us where we were and where we were heading. Would not hesitate to book another cruise, and would definitely recommend to anyone. Thank you for the trip of a lifetime and look forward to many more!!

Having been on this ship 12 months ago, we thought it would be great to try it again to see if we liked it as much as the first time. When we arrived at Vila, we thought a tour to the swing bridges would be something that we would both enjoy and although it was raining and we were soaked to the skin, it was one of the best tours that we had ever experienced. Three swing bridges and finishing off with a short flying fox, all over rushing water and medium sized waterfalls. Wow. If we weren't so wet we would have done it all again. Worth the fee and adrenalin rush.

I would recommend a cruise to anyone. It was the best 8 days we have ever had. The cabin was very comfortable and a good size just for the two of us. The steward was very good and helpful. Everything was just perfect we couldn't find fault with anything.

Love the relax atmosphere that the ship offers to the passengers or the go to every thing you can if you feel the need to participate in the many activities that the ship offers.Just had the best time, Caught up with friends from our past on the same cruise. Most of all your making blankets for the children that you support to me was my high light I know it was P & O not Carnival but am hoping they too have some thing similar I can not keep my hands still even while on holidays. Thank you for making sure every one has the most awesome holidays ever. I tell every one about ours.Quite a few have also taken a cruise and now have the bug too.We have taken our Daughter Belinda twice with us and our Son Colin once. Also the neighbor last year and Catherine really enjoyed her self too .thank you from the Lloyd family for making our time on board so relaxing its a pleasure to holiday on board any ship we have been on board.
