Carnival Cruise Lines

Carnival Cruise Line promises you the most fun you’ll have at sea. There are endless fun things to do on a Carnival cruise, including exciting activities, gourmet dining, night time entertainment, incredible destinations to explore and adventurous shore excursions. Perfect for family holidays, but just as great as a romantic getaway, there are unlimited ways to enjoy a Carnival cruise.

Onboard a Carnival cruise, you can enjoy a wide variety of entertaining activities. Adults can relax at Serenity, the adults-only retreat, or experience a seven-course meal with a private dinner at the chef’s table. Kids can hang out in the various youth programs tailored to their age – there are arts and crafts and story time for the little ones, talent shows and pool parties for the young teens and the older teens can hang out in the exclusive Club O2 lounge to enjoy music, movies and dance parties.

Carnival’s fleet of 23 ships cruises to around 60 cruise destinations, spanning the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, New England, Europe, Tahiti and soon New Zealand and the South Pacific. At each destination, guests will be able to choose from a variety of shore excursions to suit every member of the family.

Kids

Kids can’t help but love Carnival cruises, as they are all about fun! For kids aged two to 11, Camp Carnival offers games, paints, crayons, a pool area and everything else young cruisers love. For kids between the ages of 12 and 14, there is Circle C, giving them their own space for games, parties, and making new friends. Club O2, for teens aged 15 to 17, is a trendy hangout that offers music, entertainment, sports and parties just for them.

Dining

On a Carnival cruise it’s all about what you want, when you want it. You can take advantage of Carnival’s ‘Your Choice Dining’ service, which allows you to determine for yourself when, how, where and with whom you would like to dine. Some of the options available to you include a number of relaxed and formal dining rooms, a café, a sushi bar, stateroom service and more. Kid-friendly options are always available, and for those of you crave midnight snacks, Carnival offers pizza and soft-serve ice cream 24/7, so you never go hungry again.

Our stern, starboard cabin, on Deck 8, had a wonderful wrap-around, private balcony. The weather was
mostly cloudy, but we did get some sun time on the loungers and chairs available. The restaurants were
straight below, on Deck 3, or straight above, on Deck 9, and it was only 73 paces to the lifts. The Amber
Palace Theatre was in the bow, so we did have to walk a bit, but most sports were in the stern, or midships.
The second week, we had a cabin on Deck 2, right behind the midships lifts, so were close to most things.
There was plenty to do on the ship and we won trophies and medals at Table Tennis, Mini Golf and Quizzes,
so were rewarded for our efforts. The pools and spas were not too crowded and the temperatures were
good. The food catered for all tastes, was plentiful, and always available. The shore tours were mostly
excellent and good value for money, with a wide variety of activities available. The staff were excellent
and most helpful.

We had a wonderful cabin on Deck 8, which was the starboard, stern, corner cabin, with a wrap around balcony, containing 2 sun loungers and 2 chairs. The stern lifts were just 65 paces away and the restaurants on Decks 3 and 11 a few paces from those lifts. We had great views coming into and leaving the ports and were able to take advantage of the sun in complete privacy.

The services were excellent, with a new folded-towel animal in our cabin each night, and plenty of on board activities, with chances to add trophies and medals to our collection, for winning Mini Golf, Quiz tournaments, etc.

We took full advantage of the Shore Excursions, which were mostly good value, and were very happy with the local guides. We saw a lot of new country and had many and various experiences, from swimming and snorkelling in warm tropical waters, to visiting beautiful islands, with amazing views, history, art, forests and wildlife.

Great itinerary and ports of call ( including Monte Carlo, Rome, Naples, Dubrovnik, Venice, Sicily). Having done 3 P & O cruises in the South Pacific, we were expecting great things from Carnival. We were however disappointed with the service, meals, kids clubs and entertainment on Carnival, which were not up to the standard we have experienced on P & O. The Shore Tours organised through Carnival however were top notch.

We would not hesitate to recommend a Med Cruise, and would love to do another, but just not with Carnival (I believe they are no longer offering Med Cruises, as the Carnival Sunshine is now based in the Carribean).
